Activity – Intrinsic Skill/Stress

Rome II – Total War
In Rome II, a
stress situation is when you are in the battlefield, your army in formation,
and the enemy army starts charging at you. At this moment you have a small
period of time to choose whether to also charge at the enemy, to back of, or
just to keep steady.
The Intrinsic
Skill present in Rome II comes in the form of being able to use military
strategy in your favor. There are thousands of different possibilities of how
you can lead your army, of 500, or even 15000 men, in a battle. You can choose
if you are going to bring a certain number of archers, swordsmen, spearmen,
cavalry, artillery, ballistas, dogs or even elephants. You have to decide every
action that each group of men in your army takes, like when your archer should
start firing arrows, for example.
This game has a
high absolute difficulty. You have to be able to think very fast, and
strategize how you are going to be able to win a battle, sometimes against
armies much bigger than yours.
